A 12 ft wood look aluminum sliding gate
The ALU 40 Horizontal GAP 3/8" Wood Grain 12X6 ft. Heavy-Duty Sliding Gate from Aluglobus Aluminum Systems is a 12 ft wood look aluminum sliding gate for driveways and wide side entrances. Thirty-two Alu 40 slats in a wood-look finish run horizontally across a black heavy-duty frame, spaced with a 3/8" gap, so you get the warmth of a timber gate with the strength and low upkeep of aluminum.
Because the gate slides along the fence line on a ground track, it never swings into the driveway. That makes it a practical choice where the drive slopes up from the street, where parked cars sit close to the gate, or where there simply isn't room for a swing gate to open.

Wood grain slats on a black frame
The two-tone look is part of the design and works well against dark posts, black window frames and modern house trim: the frame members, corner brackets and channel kits are black, while the Alu 40 slats carry the wood-look finish. The 3/8" gap between slats lets light and air through and gives the gate a crisp, horizontal rhythm instead of a solid wall.

Heavy-duty sliding hardware
The frame is assembled from 2 in. x 4 in. HD members, joined at the corners with big and small brackets, with channel kits inside the frame to capture the slat ends. The gate rolls on the C-Wheel along three 10 ft C-Track sections. A 6" roller guide steadies the top of the leaf, the gate catcher receives it when it closes, and the gate stopper limits travel when it opens. Replacement parts such as the 2-1/2 in. C-wheel pair are sold individually.
Posts and planning your opening
The price list gives two post options for this gate:
- 3 in. Square Post – concrete footing or wall
- 4 in. Square Post – concrete footing
Measure the clear width of the opening and make sure there is a straight, level run beside it for the gate to slide back into. Plan track, footings and post spacing following the included instructions and your local code, and confirm with our team if your site has a slope or the opening is close to 12 ft.

Wood look or black?
If you prefer an all-black gate in the same layout, the Alu40 12×6 HD sliding gate uses black Alu 40 slats with the same heavy-duty frame and hardware approach. Whichever finish you choose, the gate is 6063-T6 aluminum with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating, so there is no staining or sealing schedule like a real wood gate. Keep the track clear of gravel and leaves, rinse the slats when you wash down the fence, and check the wheel and roller occasionally to keep the gate running smoothly. No motor is listed in this kit, so confirm opener compatibility with our team if you plan to automate it.
