A 6 ft opening leaves plenty of room to move equipment through, but it also leaves a large view into your yard when the gate is gapped. This 6×6 aluminum privacy gate kit closes that view with ALU 60 tongue-and-groove slats that interlock edge to edge. It comes boxed with the 6' x 6' DIY frame kit, 11 slats cut to 62in. and the 7/8 plugs, ready for a single-swing pedestrian gate.
All parts are 6063-T6 aluminum with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating, so the gate keeps its colour and shape without the sealing and repainting a wood privacy gate needs.

The 6' x 6' frame kit is listed with a vertical gate frame, vertical gate frame cap, top and bottom horizontal gate frame, 2 heavy duty hinges and a gate stopper, and is compatible with the Universal Slat Adapter.
Why choose tongue and groove for a wide gate
Each 6-inch ALU 60 T&G slat locks into the one below, so 11 slats fill the frame with no visible seams to see through. On a wide gate that makes a noticeable difference: the surface reads as one calm plane that matches T&G horizontal fencing. Typical uses include:
- Side-yard gates that hide bins, AC units or pool equipment
- Courtyard and patio entrances where privacy matters
- Replacing a worn wood privacy gate with a low-maintenance one
Because the slats arrive pre-cut to 62in. for the 6' x 6' frame, you skip measuring and cutting long profiles on site. The 0.047 wall slats and the 7/8 plugs come in the same finish as the frame, so the gate looks uniform once assembled. Compared with a wood privacy gate of the same size, there is no sealing schedule to keep, and the boards will not cup or split as seasons change.

A solid 6 ft gate is the most demanding case in this family, because a closed face takes more wind load than a gapped one. For wall-to-wall openings, use the 2x2in Hinge Post & L-Side Post Kit. For in-ground installs, compare the 3in HD post for concrete footing with the 4×4 in. HD square post for a standalone post, and confirm the right choice with our team if your site is exposed.

Before installation
Measure the finished opening and allow for your posts, check local code for gate requirements, and follow the included instructions during assembly. Leave room for the gate to swing: a 6 ft leaf sweeps a wide arc, so clear any steps, planters or slopes from its path. Latch hardware is not in the box, so choose it at the same time as your posts.

What it is made of
(Box) Alu 60 T&G 6×6 ft. DIY Pedestrian Gate Kit – Single swing – No Gap is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
