Base Plates It Pairs With

Our systems include several surface-mount options, such as the 5×5 in. base plate for the 3×3 in. HD post and base plates for the 2.75 2-way post. Each is secured to concrete through its anchor holes, and this is the anchor listed for that job.

Planning Your Order

  • Count the anchor holes on each base plate and multiply by the number of posts.
  • Add a few spares for the job.
  • Our boxed 2×2 in. gate post kits list a 3/8" x 3" anchor bolt or hex head wood screw with the baseplate; this 3-3/4" anchor is a separate item.
  • Follow the anchor instructions and local code, and confirm with our team if you are unsure about your concrete.

Base plates are the usual choice when posts go onto an existing slab or patio instead of into a dug footing. Whatever layout you choose, the anchors carry the connection between the post and the concrete, so use the listed anchor, keep the anchor holes on the plate filled, and check the concrete condition before you start. If your post will carry a gate, ask our team to review your post and base plate choice.
