A 4x6 aluminum privacy gate kit with no gaps
Some openings need to block the view completely – a pool equipment area, trash bins, or a side yard next to a busy street. This 4×6 aluminum privacy gate kit uses ALU 60 tongue-and-groove (T&G) slats that lock into one another, so the finished gate shows a continuous, solid face with no gap between boards. It is a single-swing pedestrian gate kit supplied in one box with the frame, slats and plugs.
The slats are pre-cut to 39in. for the 4' x 6' frame, and everything is 6063-T6 aluminum finished with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating – the same materials used across our horizontal fence systems.

The frame kit is listed with a vertical gate frame, vertical gate frame cap, top and bottom horizontal gate frame, 2 heavy duty hinges and a gate stopper. Posts and latch hardware are chosen separately.
How tongue and groove slats work on a gate
The ALU 60 T&G profile is a 6-inch slat with a tongue on one edge and a groove on the other. Stacking them in the frame closes every seam, which is why this kit needs only 11 slats where the gapped ALU 40 kit uses 16. The result looks like a solid panel from both sides while keeping the light weight and weather resistance of aluminum:
- No sightlines between slats
- Wider 6-inch boards for a calm, uniform surface
- No rot, warping or repainting like a wood privacy gate
- Pre-cut lengths – no cutting on site
Each slat is a 0.047 wall aluminum profile, and the 7/8 plugs finish the open ends so the edges of the gate look as clean as its face.

A closed privacy gate catches more wind than a gapped one, so choose a post and footing that suit your site and local code. For an opening between two walls, the 2x2in Hinge Post & L-Side Post Kit is the wall-to-wall option. For in-ground posts, the 3in HD post (concrete footing) and 4in HD post (standalone) are listed. Measuring for a 4x6 privacy gate
Measure the finished opening and allow for the posts you plan to use, then compare against the 4 ft x 6 ft kit size. Check local code for gate and pool-area rules where they apply, and follow the included instructions during assembly.
It also helps to decide early which way the gate will swing and where the latch will sit, since latch hardware is ordered separately. If the gate will stand next to an existing T&G fence, using the same ALU 60 profile keeps the boards lined up visually across the run. What it is made of
(Box) Alu 60 T&G 4×6 ft. DIY Pedestrian Gate Kit – Single swing – No Gap is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 super-durable powder coating.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
