This is a single 8 ft Alu 40 slat taken from box stock. It is the part to reach for when one slat on an existing run is damaged, when you need a few extra for a short section, or when you are building a gate and only need a handful. A replacement aluminum fence slat 8 ft long in the same profile and finish keeps a repaired panel looking uniform.

Where it fits
The slat is listed for new fence and gate builds. It is the same slat supplied in the Alu 40 8×6 fence kit, so it slots into the 2.75 2-way post system with the same L-brackets and spacers. At 4.30 lbs a piece it is easy for one person to handle and position.
- Replace a dented or scratched slat without reordering a full box.

Swapping a damaged slat
On a stacked slat fence, a slat is held by the posts, brackets and the slats around it, so replacing one usually means working from the top of the section down to the damaged piece. Keep the removed spacers in order so the gap stays even when you rebuild the stack, and follow the instructions supplied with your system. If you are unsure how your existing fence was assembled, describe it to our team first.
Single slat or full box?
For one or two slats, a replacement aluminum fence slat 8 ft long bought by the piece is the practical choice. For a complete 6 ft x 8 ft section, the 16-piece Alu 40 slat box is the simpler order. Either way, match the color to your existing fence and keep the gap at 3/8" or more, the listed minimum for Alu 40.

What it is made of
(From Box) ALU 40 Slat 0.047 THK x 8ft is made from aluminum 6063-t6, finished with AAMA 2604 Super-Durable Powder Coating in black (listed available), bronze, white.
6063-T6 is an architectural aluminum alloy made for extruded profiles. It gives clean, consistent shapes and takes a powder coating evenly, which is why it is widely used for fences, gates and other exterior building products.
AAMA 2604 is the American Architectural Manufacturers Association specification for high-performance organic coatings, powder coatings included, on aluminum extrusions. It sets test requirements for outdoor color and gloss retention, chalking and corrosion resistance.
